Getting your message across
"...from either side of the microphone"
We work with organisations of all sizes, helping you to understand the way journalists work, and focussing your message in the best possible way.
A typical one day workshop will include discussion on the key elements of a message, campaign or press release, followed by a number of radio and TV interviews. Sessions are practical, realistic and give plenty of hands-on experience. Feedback is given in one-to-one or group sessions.
The aim is to help even the least experienced participant gain confidence in dealing with the media.
Broadcast production skills
We also provide radio production and web-site production training.
For broadcast training, editorial robustness and accountability are as important as broadcasting skills. These are covered using case studies and practical exercises. For more news about our work with the Ravensbourne College of Design and Communication, click here. For example the Introduction to Creative Radio Features course includes:
- identifying the context and audience
- different types of feature and package
- the building blocks of radio features
- effective planning
- dealing fairly with interviewees and contributors
- fx, atmos and wildtrack
- editing and mixing

What they say about our media training:
"I have been extremely impressed by the approach you have taken to the broadcast media training provided to spokespeople at Age Concern England. The preparation was thoughtful and thorough, taking into account and developing the brief I had provided. The feedback from the widely varied group of trainees has been universally excellent and your briefing to me about their strengths and weakness was extremely helpful."
Bendan Paddy, Age Concern England
